The article is making a statement that Taiwan should have global free trade agreement. According to the article written by Joshua Meltzer, the fellow of global economy and development, it stated that Taiwan is a very fast grown country which are very success in develop the economic. The writer said that Taiwan GDP per capital raise every year since 1992. Now, Taiwan has become 28th richest country in the world and 6th in Asia. Taiwan's economy grows rapidly cause them to become 28th largest in the global economic. Basically, Taiwan import alot and export the agriculture product for only minimum percent, therefore Taiwan is very dependent on global trade. The trade between Taiwan with other country like China help Taiwan grows the economic very fast. If Taiwan wants to develop its country continually then it need to be the partner with other country.
In my opinion, Taiwan is a very strong in resources. The economy grows fast because the relationship between the country is good. therefore, the trade between them are more. This is one of the reason Taiwan's economy is fast. I'm agree with the article. Taiwan should have more Free Trade Agreement with other country which can benefits both of them. If Taiwan sign more FTA with other country, the cost of import products will decrease therefore the country will have more money to invest the economy. this mean that the economy will grow stronger and better than before. For a citizen, they will have a benefits for consume cheaper foreign products. If the economic of Taiwan grow stronger, the world will get more agriculture product and resources from Taiwan with a cheaper price.
